Purse On The Head.

I can’t remember if I mentioned that I finally finished knitting my purse – and now, I’ve even felted it. It looks pretty spiffy, IMHO, but I’m somewhat biased. Heh.

The following photos are of the purse before it was felted. In the next day or two I’ll get around to taking some pictures of the final-final project so you can see what it looks like. I’m really pleased with my first ever knitting project!

Coffee + Purse
(Sexy, no?)

unfelted, still
Less interesting, but more purse!

Dana, I love it. I started knitting after reading a few of your post’s, but mine doesn’t look that good.
    Keep up the good work.

Karleen – thank you! I’m really proud of myself. (How goofy does THAT sound? hehehe) Are you a new knitter? What are you working on? I have to post some pictures of the finished purse so you can see the difference between the “hat” then and now. ;) Felted, it will definitely keep his head MUCH warmer.. hehehe

Hey Dana, I used to knit many many many years ago. Actually I haven’t thought about it for a long time, That is until I read your post on knitting. My grandmother taught me how to make slippers but I can’t remember for the life of me how to do it. So I guess I will just work at my “Scarf” until I get a little braver and attempt a sweater or something really cool like that. My only problem is that I have absolutely no patience for ANYTHING, and I can honestly see myself having a complete break dowm when I drop the first stitch. and that will be the end of my knitting career. I guess that’s why I haven’t done anything in so many years. So if you hear a really loud scream, you’ll know I dropped a stitch, or my stitches fell off the end of the needle. I’m such a loser when it comes to anything artistic or craftsy. HA HA HA. Keep up the posts, I love dropping in and reading your blog.

I have to laugh – sorry! The whole reason I put off learning for so long (even after it seemed like everyone ELSE in the world was knitting) was because I can never seem to sit still for long enough to make ANYTHING (and thus, my house tends to have a bunch of half-done projects sitting around). I’m finding the class is a good way to stay motivated (we all cheer each other on as we go) and I’m sticking to fairly small projects so that I don’t lose motivation as easily. That, and since Coffee is taking the knitting class with me (yes, yes he is!) just watching him sit and knit makes me want to do it too (most of the time, at least!)

I, too, am a self-professed loser when it comes to arts and crafts! Wheeeee!

Your too funny. I had a good laugh over that one. If I could leave a laughing face I would, but I don’t know how to. I’m knitting illiterate and computer illiterate. Maybe if we put all of our half done projects together, maybe, just maybe we could have something really spiffy.

For a big smiling face, just do this : ) – but put them side by side so that when you tilt your head to the left it looks like a happy face without a nose. For a wink, use ; ) (again, with no space between them). Easy as pie! :)

I wonder what we could make with two half-finished scarves and some assorted squares of knitting.. Hmmmm.
