I like the new instructor better but then I need the authority by which she teaches. Plus the fact that she did *not* rip the work out of my hands, translated into big kudos from me.

Also, she didn't made me feel like I was doing something bad by wanted to redo it and make it 'perfect' Our first instructor wasn't so kind.

I will admit that the fact that I PAID for this class is a great motivator for me to continue going and that also translates to me wanting to make time to knit outside of class too.

Oh and yeah I was sensitive to her impatience with the little girl too. I was worried when I first came in that she was going to be a knitting Nazi based on the way she spoke to her.

Well, the knitting class is relatively cheap for lessons at $3 an hour, but at the same time, we generally don't need much help. Still, I don't think that we'd have been as motivated to start without the class and knowing that we could ask anyone for help. As for future classes, it might be better to see if we can organize a local stitch and bitch somewhere.

I do go to knitting school! It's Monday nights (from 6:30 - 8:30) at a yarn store in Hamilton. It's usually just five or six of us (with one or two instructors) but tonight we had at least 15 people crammed into the store. :) It's a really good motivator - if I screw up, they help me fix it. If I don't know how to do something, they'll teach me. And I get to chat with all the other people in the class, of course, which is a nice way to be social. Heh. The bonus is that the store is full of all the supplies I could ever need, so I can pick out new yarns and special needles and whatever. :)

You go to knitting school? How cool is that. I'd consider it, but those needles can do a lot of damage to someone who gets in my way. Especially if I drop a stitch or something like that. Go Dana Go. !!!!!
