Paperwork.

Today, like most other weekdays in recent history, I am plowing through more adoption-related paperwork. Over the weekend we spent some time filling in forms, getting criminal background checks done, shopping for bunk beds (wheee!) and making lists of anything we need to do in order to comply with the household safety requirements.

This is a photo of the paperwork, from CAS, that we have to fill out. It doesn’t include the stuff we’re waiting to get back from insurance companies and the police station or the vet or the RCMP or even our medical information. Most of those sheets are actually small packets of paper all stapled together…

Here’s a secret: I love paperwork. I went through all the sheets and checklists and filled in everything I could – everything that didn’t have to be in Coffee’s handwriting, specifically – before he touched the package this weekend. He hates filling this kind of thing in and I get all giddy and have to find the perfect pen..

I’ve spent much of today on the phone. There are a thousand and one people I need to speak to, a billion places I need to make appointments to visit and a trillion things to consider. More paperwork will be flying through our doors shortly.

I’m so excited!

Do you like scheduling? I know of an operations manager position that is opening up… ;)

I LOVE scheduling! Oh, yes! But, um, somehow I don’t think I’m QUITE the woman they’re looking for. Purple hair notwithstanding.. :)

Pregnancy seems cool and everything… but adoption looks like waaay more fun! I love paperwork too… and questionnaires especially. I can’t wait to hear about your new “baby” when you have her/him in your home!!

I love paperwork too! We are weird. Don’t worry about my allergies–They didn’t kick up as much as when I handle Owen rattie for five minutes.

Kelly, that’s because you SMOOCH Owen! Actually, for someone who doesn’t like dogs much, you DO give the beag some good love. :)

Ms. Ciao – Adoption IS way more fun. Plus, I’m still walking around insisting that I’m “eating for two”.. Heh.
