PDA + Google Calender?

I love Google calendar. It’s the first calender I’ve ever had that I actually USED with any reliability. That says a lot about the service, quite frankly, because I tend to just scribble things on post-it notes and then lose them and spend days chanting, “DENTIST ON JUNE 1ST. DENTIST ON JUNE 1ST.” while hoping my brain won’t forget.

And then, generally speaking, my brain forgets.

Google calender has saved me. I enter all our appointments (Coffee’s, too!) and it emails me reminders and oh, it’s wonderful. I love love love it.

But now I have a bit of a problem.

I want to buy a PDA for myself – something that I can keep in my purse and use to record appointments (and check the calender) on the go. But I can’t find any sign that Google calender will sync with any sort of PDA. And lord knows I have always hated the calender system in most PDAs. AND, making it more complicated, I prefer to use Linux to sync and most PDAs don’t like linux.

Seriously, I can’t make ANYTHING easy on myself.

Anyone know of a work-around or a hack to get Google calender to work with a PDA somehow?

    I *knew* I saw something about this. Goosync is a beta tool that is supposed to help you synchronize Google Calendar with a PDA.

    Easy Way to Sync Palm & Google Calendar Right Now:

    Windows users can sign up for the free service at airset.com, which syncs Palms with its own calendar. Then just set up your airset calendar to subscribe to your Google Calendar(s). Works like a charm. Right now the feeds from Google Calendar (or any other external source) to airset are only updated once per day, but the site says it’s working on a “refresh now” button.

    I believe Apple/Palm users can just use the Missing Sync.

    Just get a mobile phone with a decent web browser on it (I hear Opera works on a lot of them), and connect to Google. I’m not sure that any of the PDA firms are going to stay in business much longer – PDA sales have fallen in (big) double digits for a few years running now.

    That said, I hear good things about the Treeo.
