Can’t Stay Awake.

Just in case I don’t post between now and then, good vibes for Friday morning at 9 a.m. EST would be much appreciated.

Writing this post BORED ME – you’ve been forewarned! – but I’m trying to get back into the habit of updating every day. It’s sort of like I’m in training for NaBloPoMo.

When Coffee arrived home last night, we talked for a little while and he had a snack, and then he returned to the task of cutting the trim for the bathroom. That’s the only thing left in there – and it’s the part that’s taking the longest because it requires precision.

Since the bathroom is about 2 feet away from our bedroom, and since there’s no way for two of us to fit comfortably into the bathroom, I curled up in my duvet, shivering and freezing to death, and occasionally popped my head out to peek at the progress.

The bed felt so nice and soft and warm and..

Okay, I fell asleep.

I fell asleep while Coffee used the (very, very loud) jigsaw to make all the mitered joints. The thing is loud enough that you can’t hear yourself think, let alone take a nap, but either my body really needed that catnap or my ears are so plugged that I couldn’t hear it anyway.

I woke up feeling more than a little disoriented.

Before my passing-out act, I spent some time priming and applying the first coat of paint in the basement. The words “bright orange” would be almost an understatement here. It’s just.. blindingly bright. And of course, that’s exactly what we were going for in there. Make that tiny room GLOW!

In a little while I’ll head down and put on the second (final?) coat of paint and let it dry. Tonight we’ll install the flooring and the baseboards and we’ll be able to fill the office up with officey-goodness like my never-ending stationery supplies and the five million computers we’ve got in this house.

I am very excited about having dedicated office space again.

Since I’m already boring you to tears, I might as well update you on my health this morning. I’m still stuffed up, ear-clogged, sore-throated and vaguely shivery but I’ve now added in some dizziness to make it a bit more fun. I’m also feeling constantly out of breath because I forget that I can’t inhale through my nose.

On the flip side, though, I feel somewhat more energetic (perhaps because of all that extra sleep?) and I figure I can coast through part of today and get a few tasks taken care of before I pass out again.
