Hell YEAH!

Monday, shortly after school lets out, our adoption worker is coming by with the OFFICIAL ADOPTIVE PLACEMENT PAPERS!

This means we can start the OFFICIAL six month countdown to our adoption finalization date!

It means we can start working on things like name changes and getting updated birth certificates!

It means NO ONE CAN SWIPE THESE KIDS AWAY FROM US!

It means the kids can RELAX and know that they have a Forever Family!

It means, in the words of Oldest One, that I will become a “REAL MOM” and not “Just A Foster Mom” anymore!

It means.. well, actually, those are the big ones. Monday is a HUGE day for us and an exciting one and I’m fully expecting all three kids to be happy, sad, ridiculous, stupid, and all sorts of other emotions as they process things.

For all the “good” that comes from this step it also marks a very firm ending to a part of their life that they’ve lived for several years. It means a more firm “goodbye” to some things and a more firm “hello” to others.

And I know we’ll go through this again, perhaps even more dramatically, in six months when things are finalized.

(And it means I can FINALLY tell you their names in TEXT instead of just little glimpses in photos!)
