Day One of March Break is now pretty much over.
Sure, Oldest One is glued to World of Warcraft still, but the younger two are tucked in bed – jammas on, teeth brushed and stories read.
And holy crap, I am so very very tired.
Today was a “veg” day for the kids. I let them do pretty much whatever they wanted – which turned out to be a lot of television, a lot of DS and a lot of World of Warcraft. They barely moved from the sofa.
I call that a much-needed rest. Some school-detoxing and, well, a big ol’ day off!
But me? Without the interruptions of running here and there to pick people up and drop people off and run assorted errands, I did a LOT of stuff around the house while I had the chance…
I made what now seems like a daily batch of oatmeal granola bars.
I cleaned the rat cage, did rat laundry.
Did some other laundry.
Vacuumed the basement and the first floor of the house.
Washed the laundry room floor and started working on the hallway floors.
Cooked two meals and made snacks.
Made bread in the bread machine for Coffee to eat when he got home.
Cleaned up from dinner, ran the dishwasher several times.
Listened to stories about World of Warcraft.
Scrubbed some shelves in the fridge (it’s all done, now).
Organized some stuff in my office a little.
Painted Middle One’s toenails and Maymo’s fingernails (one hand blue and one hand black.. so pretty!)
Mediated arguments.
… I am now tired and exceptionally irritable. Coffee’s request that I help him with bedtime because “there are two of them that need to get ready” made me come close to punching him.
And now that it’s 9:41 I’m going to brush my teeth, put on my own jammas and hop into bed.
I suspect this coming week is actually going to kill me.

As I suspected, you stay-at-home moms do nothing but watch soap operas and eat bonbons. ;)
