Coffee: I think smoking* would be the ideal way to eat hookers.
Me: Ha! Ha ha ha ha!
Coffee: Well, what would you suggest?
Me: I think I need to blog now.

Actually, that title kind of sums the whole thing up. I’ve got ownership of my domains again, the DNS has been updated, the files are on the new host, and now I’m just waiting for YOU to show up.
There are snacks over THERE and drinks over THERE and please don’t feed any of the treats to the dogs, ok?
And, Sylvain? Could you please refrain from wearing my lampshade on your head?
The boys’ biological Aunt “A” is visiting us at the moment – she arrived yesterday and will be here until Sunday – and I am doing my best to stay out of the way while she and the boys hang out and play together and watch movies and chat.
This basically means that I’m sitting in my office hitting “refresh” on my domain transfer status page.
Not that I’m feeling twitchy or anything.
I pop out of the room to feed the dogs or make some food or do random “mom” thing like remind everyone to brush their teeth. Well, I don’t ask Aunt “A” to brush her teeth – I figure she’s got that habit down by this point.
She’s here to visit the boys, not me, so I refuse to get in the way. I’m also not letting her help with cooking, clean-up or any other tasks because, hello? She’s only here ’til Sunday.
The lovely thing is that the boys are happy – I hear a lot of laughter.
This is the first post I’m writing on the new server. In fact, I’m writing it ahead of the time that the server is being moved!
So… when you DO see this, it’s on the new server.
And shortly after you see this, I will tell you all about my new host and how I got from A to B.
Ta-freakin’-da!
I’m in the midst of moving my domains to a new host which will, in all likelihood, involve some down time in the next few days. With any luck, it’ll be easy peasy and no one will even notice.
But, with my luck, it’ll be three days of angst and teeth-gnashing, so, y’know, may be we can aim for middle ground on this?
I’m moving for a few reasons, the biggest of which is simply: money. I’m hosting this domain, my old domain and the domain of my dearly departed friend Deb, and the cost just got prohibitive for something that’s ultimately frivolous.
My friend Jenn really loves her hosting company and, after some investigation, I’ve decided to move over to them. Here’s hoping I love them, too, because I’ve been somewhat spoiled by having good quality hosting through a friend’s company for many years.
Anyway, I figured I should forewarn you that things may go a bit wonky in the near future so no one would panic. Like I will be. Heh.
