I have decided that my blog is MAGICAL.
If I post it here, even casually, IT COMES TRUE.
The mail this morning brought my preliminary acceptance letter!!!!
And now I need to pull together a “current resume” and bring a written reference.
Also, I need to be at the mandatory meeting on April 22nd from 10am ’til noon because not attending means they “will assume [I am] no longer considering this program”.
This may be a problem given that I don’t have any childcare options during the daytime (our usual babysitter is in school full-time and our backup babysitters all have jobs.)
So, um, while you’re sending me really good vibes for everything else, could you also hand me a few suggestions for daytime-hours childcare? (!!)
I am so excited I could pee myself.

Well, maybe a little bit.

Do you have any event place you can drop the kids of at? We’ve got a “playland”, and random activities. Just shove the kids in there, tell them to HAVE FUN (and not hit your brother), give the Adult In Charge an exasperated look, pay and RUN. RUUUUUN. Before anyone starts crying for MOOM.
Hee. Would that work? Churches, daycarecenters, fieldtrips, scouts, library for Reading Aloud Hour, random neighbours house… Heck, isn’t there a grocery store that needs Little Helpers?
;)

damn, that’s a Wednesday.. otherwise i could take him for sure. there is actually a small possibility that i may still be able to.. i would know by the end of the week.

Didn’t you at one time express interest in developing some co-operative daycare? That would work well in situations like these.
Kid’s Zone (off Northfield in Waterloo near the expressway) keeps kids busy for a good long time, but as that’s on the exact OPPOSITE end of the region it’s probably not much help to you. :)

Or, on the flip side, after several hours he will become a 5-year-old Benny Hill.
