When Sylvain told me he was going in for a medical procedure on Monday, I told him I’d send good vibes but that I was completely confident that it would be easy-peasy for him.
On Wednesday, or thereabouts, I started to get this weird feeling. I hadn’t heard from him in a bit, but that wasn’t the problem – after all, the guy just spent some time getting knocked around in a hospital and was probably recovering, right? It’s not like his first thought was “Oh, hey, I better email Violet!”
(Although, if I may be candid, that SHOULD be your first thought if you’re my friend and you have something medical done, ok? Just for future reference.)
I decided to email him and chastise him for being so quiet and not updating his blog. But the weird feeling didn’t go away and so I emailed Kelly, too, to ask whether I should be worried.
As it turns out, the whole procedure did NOT go as planned. And Sylvain was not at home watching cartoons and healing up. I read Kelly’s blog and it was like someone punched me in the gut.
WTF?
The magic of the internet is such that we can be friends with people all over the place – next door and in a whole other country. Good friends. Sylvain lives a few hours away from me and suddenly the internet isn’t enough. I mean, I can harass him by email all day long but it feels pretty hollow.
(And yes, I did in fact consider sending him the sole remaining balloon.)
What can I possibly do to make him feel better from WAY OVER HERE?
So, I asked him if it would be okay for me to post this on my blog, and, specifically, to ask everyone reading to send him good vibes and healing thoughts and pray for him – or whatever it is that YOU do in this sort of circumstance.
He said I could.
On that note, dear reader, you have a challenge ahead of you!
Please direct your awesome healing thoughts in Sylvain’s direction – the London/Windsor/South-Western part of Ontario – and make him feel better.
Direct some good vibes towards his doctors, too.
Send some comforting vibes toward Kelly, too.
This blog cannot handle the lack of smart-ass Sylvain-comments for much longer.. :)

Someone go drive down to Windsor and give Mr. Rope a good, firm wiggle. That will send the proper good vibes to Sylvain.

Violet.. you are a sweetheart… Thank you.
Syl proudly showed me your email today… the one about sending him the last balloon…. and he had a big smile on his face….. and in his eyes…… -
