I learned absolutely nothing in university – well, nothing of worth at least.

A good part of that was circumstances (my own, I mean) but a lot of it was also because of the environment. I don’t thrive in a huge classroom – some people definitely do, but not me.

College seems to be making things sink into my brain – either because I’m in the right frame of mind to do it, now, or because of the classes/school themselves or, alternately, all of the above.

Either way, I’m glad I’m doing it. :)

Well, honestly I have to. The alternative implies that the same is not true of University, and also somewhat looks down it’s nose at College grads. I take issue with both. Certainly there are programs at colleges that are, shall we say, less than difficult. There are others, like the one I was in, where 80 people start the course, and a few years later, only 16 graduate. I think it’s safe to say they didn’t coddle the dummies. Were there a few bell curves thrown in every now and then, sure. But try to tell me that doesn’t happen in University.

I’m pretty sure there are two courses I’m going to have to work REALLY hard on – Sociology (for the tests, not for the assignments) and Law. The latter because I have to know all the various laws pertaining to (seemingly) everything in all of society, all the time, everywhere, ALL OF IT NOW NOW NOW. ;)

Please repeat after me: “Community college tests are geared towards the lowest common denominator.”

You are going to ace the course and with minimal effort. And I’ll say I told you so at the end. LOL
