- 23 trays of cinnamon rolls are currently adorning the counter in our kitchen. It took about 5 hours to make them all. Man, the house smells GOOD, though. And I think some people will be happy to get a tray..
- Still pleased with the new furnace – it’s smaller than the old one!
- Coffee cleared off a chair so I could sit down to write this entry (yay!) – it was covered in clothes for Middle One that we’ve dug out of storage and had him try on. He and Maymo are both well-set for winter (yay!). Oldest One has outgrown everything we had for him, however. (!!)
- I washed my jeans and my bras and I hung them up to dry. I like having that done on Saturdays so they’re ready for Monday morning.
- It’s the weekend and it’s the weekend and it’s THE WEEKEND!
You are currently browsing the monthly archive for October 2009.
- After more than 10 hours of banging, sawing, drilling, nailing and godonlyknowswhatelse, we finally have a new furnace, air conditioner and tank-less water heater. Yeeesh and YAY!
- Everyone involved, including the dogs, is still alive. It was touch-and-go around hour #8 when we had no hot water, the dogs were deranged and wouldn’t stop barking, and one particular kid wet his pants all over the carpet..
- Laughter. It’s a good thing.
- Of course, vodka is ALSO a good thing.
- Hope that there’ll be time to relax and chill out with Coffee later tonight.
- At physio today I learned a new exercise that will help strengthen one of the muscles that helps to support my shoulder. I’m hopeful that my body will ‘accept’ the new exercise; the last one caused more pain and had to be stopped.
- I think I did well on my sociology exam today – don’t think I got 102% this time, but that’s okay. :)
- I’m feeling pretty awesome lately about how I’m doing in school. I’m impressed with my ability to do the work, study, research, etc., because, quite frankly, my academic past is.. let’s just say that “applies herself!” was not a comment made on most of my report cards.
- Tracey is a good friend. I’m glad to have met her.
- I have a truly amazing husband.
I love these little combined lists. :)
- I am loving the weather lately. Cool air. A bit of rain. Nice smell. Still not a fan of autumn, but it’ll do.
- I was finished school today before noon. I am currently wearing my jammas and sipping a Dr. Pepper and life is good.
- My exam tomorrow shouldn’t be impossibly hard. I think I can handle it with a bit more studying today/tonight.
- Rick Mercer.
- Yesterday I got to talk to two of my neighbours – Rita and Deb – who I haven’t had a chance to chat with in FOREVER. It was nice to briefly catch up.
- Relatedly, Deb loaned us her tree-trimming implement. Now we can hack away the limb hanging over our solarium so it won’t come crashing through the glass in the middle of winter and kill us all.
- Tidying some stuff up in my bedroom and office makes me feel a trillion times better. Clarity.
- This weekend we’re gonna’ make cinnamon rolls!!!
- Dog licking my toes as if they’re a little slice of heaven. Ha!
- My husband looooooooooooooves me!
The Paper Which Shall Not Be Named (based on that book that I hated) = 93.3333%
Group Process Midterm = 92%
The exam this morning went well, I think, though it was a LOT of writing and explaining and there were certainly a few spots where I had no clue what the hell I was talking about and sort of made things up and used some “technical terms” a lot in an effort to conceal my lack of knowledge.
My group meeting today went well in that I feel like we’re on the right track.
Tonight I have a writing assignment to finish (start?) and then I’m going to try to convince my husband to play Tetris with me. :)
- I had physiotherapy today. I really, really needed it. Every nerve, muscle and tendon on the upper left part of my body was clenched like a rock yesterday and this morning. Now I feel considerably more mellow (but in pain, still. Boo.)
- I feel good about the exam/essay results I got today. They’re comparable to my expectations and that means I’m assessing myself reasonably well.
- Still pleased as punch that Coffee got Nemesis up and running smoothly. HUGE relief.
- There are pumpkins in my kitchen!
- My friend Tracey forced me to eat cookies for lunch today. I like cookies AND now I have lunch for tomorrow since I didn’t eat what I had packed this morning! BONUS!
Scored 82.5% on my Systems midterm. I am pleased.
Scored 90% on my Sociology paper. Again, I am pleased.
Wrote my Psychology midterm today. Feel that I passed, but cannot say by how much – I was not as prepared as I’d like to have been.
Handed in my Group Process paper today. Feel good about it, my group liked what I did with it, so will remain hopeful that I did well.
Tomorrow I get my Group Process midterm back. I am confident that I passed so, at least, I don’t feel ill about it.
Tomorrow I write my Helping midterm. That sounds really “fluffy”, doesn’t it? It’s all about counselling and therapeutic theories, however, and not particularly fluffy at all. Am sort of dreading it.
Have a paper due on Wednesday.
Have a midterm on Thursday.
Have decided to start drinking the peach-scented hand sanitizer that I keep in my backpack — it smells like schnapps.
- I have a huge essay to write today. The good news is that my group members all submitted their information on time and it looks like I have enough content to make a great essay!
- Laundry is going, bathroom is cleaned, kitchen is (vaguely) tidied.. yay!
- My computer appears to be working beautifully so far. Speedy! Happy! Not freezing! YAY! YAY! YAY!
- Sleep – that’s where I’m a Viking!
- An icy cold Dr. Pepper sitting next to me as an enticement to start my exam. Bribery works nicely.
Nemesis is running smoothly again. Faster, smoother, happier, fabulouser, WOO-HOO’er.. pick whatever word you like.. SHE LIVES!
Once again, All Hail My Husband! :)
- Our neighbour, Tyler, came to babysit for us so Coffee and I could go out and eat too much sushi and spend an hour alone together. It was awesome.
- I’ve been doing fairly well, I think, on my exams this past week. I feel confident that I’ve at least passed all of them.
- Maymo decided it was bedtime, early, because he was “just tired already, mom!” I love that kid.
- I’m continuing to lose weight despite the occasional can of non-diet Dr. Pepper. And oh, I love Dr. Pepper.
- Coffee is a geek. This is handy in so many ways, normally, but right now I’m just glad he’s handling Nemesis for me.
- Sex.
- My snuggie. Slanket. Whatever!
- Cold FX and Advil and Tylenol and heated throws.
- Icy cold water.
- The dog who’s currently asleep, snoring, on my foot.
- Bonus: it’s the weekend. I love the weekend.
