Grace In Small Things – 322 and 323/365

  1. One of my “contacts” at F&CS met with me yesterday to talk about some of the issues I’m writing about in my current Law paper. She handed me bunches of paper with heaps of amazing information. I’m feeling energized about this paper now!
  2. The weather has been perfect. Cool, crisp and sunny.
  3. I have absolutely nothing scheduled for tomorrow. NADA.
  4. Post-It notes are a wonderful invention.
  5. I am so glad – on a huge huge huge level – that I have a tiny little Eee instead of a huge laptop to take to school every day.
  6. Ginger Chews.
  7. Cold FX. I swear, it really does work. Placebo effect or not.
  8. Laughter. I love everyone who makes me laugh those big, hearty, near-painful belly laughs.
  9. The internet. It’s such a huge part of my life in every sense (personal, professional, educational..) and I’m grateful that I have it as a tool, at home and at school, to keep my mind open.
  10. My husband and his big brain and his warm, snuggly, physical presence.

I’ve seen ginger chews in the store and have been thinking about trying them since Patti Digh is so in love with them. And now you. Hmmmm…..

They are absolutely heavenly. I used to buy them at the health food store just off of Bridgeport – but they stopped carrying them. And do you know where I last found them? Zehrs grocery store! Nom.

How do you deal with the small battery (ie short uptime) on the eeepc? Do you keep it plugged in?

I bought a bigger battery on ebay over the summer. Most days, at school, I do absolutely fine with just that bigger one (with wifi enabled about 75% of the day, taking notes, etc.). If I know I’m going to be using wifi for much longer or will definitely need to use my laptop longer, I also bring my smaller battery along in my backpack. Power outlets are scarce in classrooms (but plentiful in the library) so it’s not feasible to rely on them.
