  1. Middle One’s birthday party was rowdy, crazy, wild and he had a really good time. I was completely and utterly exhausted at the end of it. Holy cats!
  2. Although I’ve just started to get to know her, it would appear that our neighbour (the mom of the kids who came over tonight) has many of the same parenting philosophies and values that we do. This is a really, really nice thing.
  3. I cleaned up a good chunk of the house today. I pretended it was all about Middle One’s birthday but it felt nice to get things tidy and somewhat less cluttery.
  4. No school today for me! Yay!
  5. Coffee came home and swooped right in on the party stuff, helping Middle One put Lego together, etc. He’s a good egg, my husband.

He might even be a whole nest of good eggs. Or carton. Or something.

Glad to hear MO had a great birthday. I remember turning 10. I got enough money for my birthday to buy a three bladed Stockman’s jackknife, one of THE best on the market in those days. Cost me $10, today likely over $100.
We all carried jackknives to school to play Stretch, carve bows and arrows etc..
Lego was likely a more sensible gift for today’s 10 year old living in town.

    Happy B-day to MO!

Rowdy, crazy and wild sounds like a wonderful birthday. And it sounds great that your neighbor is on the same page with parenting stuff. It’s always nice when the kids say “Can I go over to Xs house tonight?” and you can say yes without worrying.
