GiST2 – 59/365

  1. Snow! Heaps of it! And I made it home safely from school (there were a LOT of accidents).
  2. Peeps! It’s Peeps season!
  3. Cookies during school today. I swear, I’m secretly a 5 year old. (Okay, not much of a secret.)
  4. I am pretty much ready for my presentation tomorrow.
  5. I am also pretty much ready for my first live counseling session tomorrow (in front of my prof, I mean.)

LED – Today I learned the basics of soap making from my pen pal, Shannon. I had no clue what was involved, really! I won’t write it all out here, but she included a really good chunk of info for me and it was both interesting AND helped me pass some time in class today. ;)

Comment Problems?

Is anyone having problems commenting on the blog? I got an email this morning saying that one of my friends is having an issue — anyone else? (Feel free to leave a random comment on this post to test if needed!)

GiST2 – 58/365

  1. Sushi! With Coffee! Alone!
  2. We will be bringing home some new friends (to live in Jub’s aquarium). They lick their own eyeballs!
  3. UFC! UFC! UFC!
  4. My husband is awesome.
  5. Just hanging out. It’s a nice thing.

LED – The Eyelash Gecko, Rhacodactylus ciliatus, does not have eyelids. It has a lens over each eyebals and uses its tongue to lick them clean and keep them hydrated. Nature is AWESOME!

GiST2 – 57/365

  1. Today is the anniversary of the day that Coffee and I started dating. I am a very lucky girl. :)
  2. A new toilet for the basement washroom. Conveniently on sale when we needed one..it’s a dual-flush! Oooooo!
  3. Getting some laundry done so there won’t be much tomorrow.
  4. A huge amount of work done on a project. It’s for a 2 hour presentation on Tuesday morning.
  5. Researching Pac Man frogs.

GiST2 – 56/365

  1. Tomorrow is my version of Valentine’s Day. :)
  2. As soon as Coffee gets home, the weekend begins!
  3. I spent the afternoon hanging out with some friends down the street.
  4. Pizza with jalapenos and slices of fresh garlic and.. mmmmm…
  5. Laughter. Very good stuff.

GiST2 – 55/365

  1. A reasonably productive meeting at school, with regard to a group project, in which I did not stab, nor threaten to stab, my fellow group members. I wasn’t in a very good mood and group work never helps with that – but it was okay.
  2. Practicing my counseling on Coffee. I’m working to perfect my “starting” skills – the part where I introduce myself, talk about my qualifications, and explain confidentiality. I’ve been struggling with how to make it flow and not sound scripted and awkward. Coffee gave me some good advice and let me try it over and over and over again.
  3. My stabby cat is awesome.
  4. My tiny Jen Lemen “You Be You” poster (image? thingie?) is framed and in the living room now. It prompted some good discussions with Middle One about “being yourself” and why that’s important.
  5. Remembering to move the garbage out of my office and into the garbage bins – because Friday is garbage day!

GiST2 – 54/365

  1. Spending some time sewing “magic bags” today.
  2. Orange Cream Beaver Soda.
  3. Finding storage boxes for my postcard and snail-mail collections – on sale, 3 for $6. YAY!
  4. Email from my husband, even though he’s crazy-busy at work.
  5. Laughter.

Gratitude.

[I] believe that gratitude feels so good because it is the state of mind closest to your natural state in which you were born to live. It connects your brain with your heart, and gives you the ground to be a more giving, effective, loving human. Being grateful allows generosity to flow. And many believe it also makes us m…ore receptive—as in, the more you love what you have, the more you get what you want ♥

GiST2 – 53/365

  1. The little tufts of hair between the foot pads on Daisy’s paws.
  2. A brief nap in the middle of the afternoon, when I felt my energy declining.
  3. Reading some fiction (“Generation A” by Douglas Coupland).
  4. Getting some stuff done that needed to be done. Kick-starting a few other things.
  5. My husband coming home and hugging me at the end of the day, dancing with me in the kitchen, and reminding me that I’m loved.

GiST2 – 52/365

  1. Spent some time lounging in bed, reading a fiction (!) library book (!!) that had nothing to do with school (!!!)
  2. The whole family played “Canada-opoly“.
  3. Who doesn’t love a long weekend?
  4. Family Day.
  5. Middle One opening a birthday present from his Aunt and getting totally giddy. :)
