At 1:00 today, I had my field placement interview. Ultimately, it’s mostly only a formality – unless we say, or do, something unspeakably stupid during the interview, in which case the supervisor can decide not to take us.
As it turns out, I think I’m going to really like the place where I’ll be working. I’m already feeling a bit sulky that it’s not my SECOND year placement, quite frankly. First year is 5 weeks – second year is 8 months.
At any rate, my duties will include going to court and hanging out in group homes and learning about psychiatric wards and meeting loads and loads of people. My supervisor seems to be a really great guy and he’s a graduate of the program, too. He has a sense of humour! He seems quite laid back and relaxed and very open to making sure I learn a lot in the next month.
And.. I get to wear jeans and I just need to buy a few new shirts.
YIPPEE!!!!!
(The clouds parted and the Violet sang..)
I came home from the interview and immediately changed into my jamma pants and washed all the makeup from my face (phew). Grabbed some food (baklava!) and some water. Sent Coffee email.
Tonight I have to study for a final exam (it’s tomorrow). I have another final exam on Thursday. And then I just have one more week of classes to attend.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
