Crack Pipes.

Of great amusement to me is how many hits I’ve had, recently, for “crack pipe assembly”.

Is the world full of wannabe crackheads who are looking for advice? Is it an academic thing? Are people simply curious? Is there a cottage industry of crack pipe assemblers? I assume, but perhaps I’m wrong, that people who already smoke crack have figured out the logistics…?

All of which is to ask – should I post a picture of mine?

Do you want to see a picture of Violet's crack pipe with some info about how it's assembled and what the parts are for?

  • Yes. (56%, 15 Votes)
  • Not really. (30%, 8 Votes)
  • I already know all about crack pipes and just wanted info about how to market my cottage industry crack pipe assembly business. (14%, 4 Votes)

  1. There are some mighty good people in this world.
  2. A tiny bit more energy today (but exhausted as of bedtime!)

  5. It’s getting closer to the weekend. All Hail The Weekend!

A Bit Problematic.

I am exhausted.

Being sick, though now mostly recovered, has kicked my energy levels down very low. This means that I come home from a full, no-breaks day of classes – and just want to get into bed. I’m keeping up with my reading, definitely, but I’m not making much progress on the various assignments – because they require me to focus.

I can’t focus when I’m tired.

Please send vibes that I start feeling more energetic soon; you don’t want me turning to crack now that I’ve got a pipe, do you? ;)

  1. I completed my first chunk of training tonight – for my field placement, I mean.
  2. Being around people who know how to laugh at themselves and the world around them.
  3. Coffee doesn’t ‘babysit’ or ‘watch the kids’ when I’m not there – he’s an equal parent. Thank the goddess.

  5. Hump Day!!

Before I get all crazy and write about it, I’m curious whether you know much about harm reduction models.

(If you vote “no”, or “not sure”, you’re totally getting a blog post about it!)

Offhand, without looking into it further, do you know what "Harm Reduction" is with regard to sexuality and drug use?

  • No. (54%, 19 Votes)
  • Yes. (29%, 10 Votes)
  • I'm not sure. (17%, 6 Votes)

Coffee, the sober drink, the mighty nourishment of the brain, which unlike other spirits, heightens purity and lucidity; coffee, which clears the clouds of the imagination and their gloomy weight; which illuminates the reality of things suddenly with the flash of truth.” – Jules Michelet, historian.

  1. I adore my field placement supervisor. I think we’ll work very well together AND I think she’ll challenge me in good ways. Awesome.
  2. Today I did a lot of walking for outreach-purposes. The weather was perfect for it and it was a good way to chat with the aforementioned supervisor and get to know each other a bit better.
  3. I assembled my very own crack pipe today! Hands-on learning is really good for me in general – it’s even better when it comes to a skill that I’d otherwise not have AND that I may need to pass on to someone else in the future.
  4. My husband obligingly praised my crack pipe assembly skills. I repeatedly told him to “Look! Look at my awesome crack pipe!” It is never dull in our home – and my husband is marvelous.
  5. I am feeling significantly healthier (I credit the magic chocolates) and Coffee is starting to feel better (though he’s still sick) too. PHEW.
