Actions and Inactions.

So far, my vacation time has been pretty good. Coffee has had to work here and there (including today) which has put a crimp in our ability to sleep until 10 a.m. every day (all hail children who are able to pour their own cereal and then toss themselves down with a book or a video game for the rest of the morning!) but otherwise I have no complaints.

The office and bedroom space is getting better and better. My beloved husband unpacked a bunch of his boxes yesterday and, while nothing is organized yet, I am now able to easily reach, and open, the curtains in the office. Sweet hot damn! As always, unpacking boxes makes things even more out of control for a little while – today’s task, for me, is to go through as much of my own stuff as possible. I’m still hoping to get my sewing machine up and running soon so I can churn out some crooked hems and dropped threads.

The kids are bored out of their minds already, I suspect, except for the kid who’s spending his two weeks’ vacation at a friend’s house. Middle One wanted to play paintball but it appears that none of his friends are particularly interested/able and he is reluctant to go on his own. He has spent almost every spare moment playing xbox. Maymo hasn’t been allowed to use electronic things, other than on Solstice, thanks to his participation in a fist fight on the last day of school before the holidays.

(A fight that necessitated Coffee and I going to the school, mid-afternoon, instead of having The Sex in a house without children.)

(The child is lucky not to be grounded FOREVER for that sort of cock blocking.)

(How much do I love that wikipedia has an article on cock blocking?!)

The good news, for Maymo, is that he got a lot of books for Solstice and has been basically curled up with one all day, every day.

I am having a lovely time devouring ebooks – Coffee gifted me with a bunch of them recently and I’ve taken full advantage of my ability to stay in my jammas (or crawl back into them) for long periods of time, snuggle under my duvet, and just.. read. And read and read and read. And fall asleep, randomly, too. Ahem.

There is a good chance I will have scurvy by the time this holiday is over – I have eaten so many Centennial Squares, cookies, fudge, and, weirdly, pepperettes, that it was almost decadent to eat a salad a few days ago at lunch.

(Oh, god, salads. Mmmm.)

I hope you’re having a lovely bit of time, too.

Here’s a question. Do ebooks count as electronics?

I don’t know! Coffee and I will need to discuss that, now that you mention it. We certainly have enough books in the house that the kids won’t suffer without ebooks – - but.. reading is reading. Hmmm!

You’re my test case. It hasn’t come up yet here, but it will!
