Get Back.

You are totally sitting there wondering how my back is doing. I know it. You’re hitting ‘refresh’ every few minutes, hoping desperately that I’ll update you.

Well, here it is: My back still hurts.

To be more accurate, my back stops hurting for a little while and I get excited by this and I do something stupid and then it hurts again. And then I take good care of it and it feels better again and then.. yeah, stupid again.

So, for example, it felt pretty good yesterday morning and so I forgot that it had been hurting and I was doing the things that I always do – including sitting, leaning forward, with my arms on a table in front of me for a while.

Apparently my back did not approve of that, so when I got home in the evening I was, once again, lying down on my back and waiting for it to feel better. Meh.

This morning I had to do a really big delivery to one of the fixed outreach places and was (by my own admission) freaking out about how I’d manage to accomplish it without hurting myself. When I say “really big” I mean “cases and cases of stuff” needed to be loaded into the car, driven somewhere, and hauled up a flight of stairs.

I will be honest – I was tempted to do it myself.

Instead, I made some desperate phone calls this morning. I am so grateful for my coworker who was able to help me.

Asking for help is okay. I need to remember that.
